Day 2: We drive off town 18km until the start
of Circuito Chico, next to the magnificent Llao Llao. Riding most
of the way along Nahuel Huapi Lake, the biggest in the Lake distric
and one of the most beautiful as well. We pass by several view
points. All the road is paved and quite relax, crossing through
ancient forests. We finish our ride right where we begun, at the
Llao Llao, and the drive back to Bariloche.
Day 3: After breakfast we drive out of town
to get away from Traffic (10km ish). We start pedalling the east
side of Lake Nahuel Huapi heading towards route 231 where Patagonic
landscape shows us it´s
dryness. Not long after we start heading west and the landscape
changes again to start showing us a lot more green and perhaps
a few snowed peaks in the horizon. We pedal all the way along the
mentioned Lake to finally reach Villa la Angostura, a small cosy
little town, with some very nice restaurants.
Day 4: Just outside town we meet the trail that
will lead us to the magical and unique in the world Arrayanes forest,
most of the trail goes by the Nahuel Huapi lake in the peninsula
of Quetrihue. On the way we will admire the many ancient trees,
and birds that fill this majestic and enchanted forest.
We came back for afternoon Te.
Day 5: Many Km to ride and many lakes to see.
We say good bye to the Nahuel Huapi and as soon as we do we see
Lake Hermoso and right after Lake Espejo, where the dirt part of
the road starts after 22km we reach the big uphill that leads us
to the Portezuelo pass, pass that we cross to get to the Traful
valley. A nice downhill drops us almost at the west shore of the
Traful Lake and from there some 15km more till we reach another
small Villa named after the lake.
Day 6: We drive back to the main road, 25km,
where we start pedalling. After 20km of gravel and dirt, ups and
downs we reach the shores on Pichi Traful Lake and right after
the beautiful emerald colored Escondico Lake. Only a few more km
and we reach the pavement, and after a very nice and resting downhill
we reach the Falkner Lake and the Villarino Lake, separated one
from the other by a small stream of water.
We keep on riding and this time we reach the beautiful lakes Machonico and Hermoso,
and not far more the 12km downhill that takes us to San Martin de los Andes.
Day 7: We drive to the Cerro Chapelco were we
have a beautiful view of the Lanin snowed Volcano and the Andes
range. From here most of the way is downhill crossing through Mapuches
Indians lands. The road leaves us back into San Martin de los Andes.
Day 8: Drive back to Bariloche, aprox
3hs.
